I think this has the potential to be an interesting study, though I would suggest that you have a couple of issues you could focus on.
For example, you could reference how the nurse/patient relationship has changed over the years due to cuts in funding, waiting list targets, only being able to dedicate a certain amount of time per patient. This could lead onto discuss how nurses might feel unable to have a rapport with patients and how some patients feel like a statistic or set of symptoms rather than a person.
What interpersonal skills were you thinking of focussing on in particular?
Where would you find your research and would you be able to gather evidence of this from current nurses in the form of questionnaires for example?
You might want to consider what people think Nursing is about and how this compares with the reality?
